YOUR FIRST LOOK
Rather you decide to have a first look or not, it is a very amazing and emotional part of your beautiful wedding day! If you are unsure on this new trending tradition, the next upcoming blog posts will have explain why it would be a romantic addition to your beautiful wedding day that not only adds to the experience but will also reduce the stress.
My disclaimer is that I would never, ever want any of my beautiful couples to feel pressured into going with having a first look. However, I do want to make sure that I share all the complete benefits of having a first look. This is the reason why about 75% of my beautiful couples do it and LOVE it!
WHY FIRST LOOKS ARE AWESOME
A lot of couples often get caught up in how “non-traditional” first looks are and they immediately decide “No!” I can talk about those couples because Adam and I were almost one of them. Traditions are very, very important to my family… while my grandmother. She wanted us to wait until the ceremony, before seeing each other. I felt that the first moment that Adam saw me in my beautiful dress, was a more private moment. Now don’t get me wrong! Walking down the aisle and seeing your soulmate at the other end full of surprise and overcome with joy. Yes, that is a lot of girl’s DREAM?
The moment before they see their bride for the first time, everything becomes VERY, VERY REAL! Click To TweetLuckily, we had the best of both worlds because Adam and I decided to share an intimate “First Look” moment before our ceremony and Adam was in shock but he still had overcome with joy when I walked down the aisle. This is a moment that I will forever treasure!
YOU WANT A REACTION
After experiencing my own wedding and shooting over 200 others… I’ve come to this great conclusion. Some brides love “traditions”… I can just hear, Tevye, from Fiddler on the Roof, singing…. Tradition… Tradition…but what most brides REALLY want when it comes to her groom seeing her for the first time is a REACTION.
Those who are uninterested in a First Look usually think that by seeing each other beforehand, they will lose part of that reaction. They also assume that it will not be as emotional or as intimate as it would be when they come down the aisle. Yes, my conclusion to my hypothesis – Yes like researching my Senior Thesis all over again.
Everyone knows that wedding days are just a bit stressful for the two love birds.
Take it from my own experience, most grooms become incredibly nervous on their wedding day, even if they are the calm collected type. The moment before they see their bride for the first time, everything becomes VERY, VERY REAL!
The fifteen minutes or so a first look may be …. Probably the last time the two of you can be alone on your own wedding day. It’s a very reassuring moment and without a first look, you probably won’t get that time just the two of you. It doesn’t take anything away from your groom seeing you walk down the aisle. The ceremony is public, music is playing, friends and family are there, it’s a whole new type of amazing!
