Planning Your Engagement Session
YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Your plans for your beautiful wedding day is coming along, and your engagement session is fastly approaching. If that’s the case hopefully you have set a date and picked a venue. Those are some of the hardest parts of during the planning process for your wedding; that’s worthy of opening a bottle of the bubbly!
I include engagement sessions in all of our Wedding Experience Service because engagement sessions are an ESSENTIAL part of the entire process. Your engagement session is a chance to not only meet me, but also get to know me, experience how I pose, light, shoot, and my personality. More importantly, it’s my chance to get to know both of you better. Engagement sessions have an enormous impact on how the wedding day will flow.
So on your wedding day, there will be no need to break the ice, since we will already be the best of friends so that I will get the strongest poses. PLUS you’ll be more comfortable, that means authentic expressions! So when your big day happens you will feel like a pro on being in front of the camera, because of all our great practice you had during your engagement session!
SCHEDULING YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Your one-of-kind engagement session can be scheduled anytime before your beautiful wedding day. I typically suggest booking it at least 3-6 months in advance to avoid stress. Because our weekends are filled with beautiful dream weddings, I usually shoot engagements are weekday evenings, normally from 5-7 pm depending on the light and time of year. Generally, you want to start your engagement session, 2 hours before sunset.
WHERE TO PLAN YOUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Locations that have sentimental value for your engagement shoot. If you are unable to think of anywhere particular, that you would like to have your engagement session at, I feature ENGAGEMENT LOCATIONS on my blog from time to time.
I shoot at farms, downtown alleys, woodsy parks, tunnels, piers, and even coffee shops! I’m completely serious! Don’t be shy with any crazy ideas, your engagement session is about the two of you, as a couple. Be you. Be creative.
