Are First Looks Worth it?
Happy Wedding Wednesday Ladies,
Welcome back! Reminder this post is sort of builds from last weeks post. I’ve already clarified how much I LOVE first but know I will break it down on why first looks are worth it much. So today I have some amazing tips and five HUGE reasons why FIRST LOOKS are worth it and why you should do one for your wedding.
40% MORE PORTRAITS!
You’re investing a lot into your wedding photography. Simply because of the timeline being more efficient with a first look, you’ll receive 40% MORE Portraits of the two of you… and those are the images you will decorate your first home with! They may even become family heirlooms. Trust me, our 2500 sqft house is PACKED full of our portraits! With a first look, you make the most out of your investment and get the most for your money.
DON’T TAKE AWAY FROM THE CEREMONY
You actually get some amazing one-on-one time on your wedding day with your soulmate. Most brides don’t realize that when you come down the aisle and totally SHOCK your soulmate with how amazing you look… he can’t even tell you how beautiful you look. He can’t touch you, embrace you or even SPEAK to you. You have to wait until the ceremony is over for him to react and tell you how incredible you look. After the ceremony, the reaction isn’t the same as the first glance.

EXTEND YOUR WEDDING DAY THREE HOURS
First looks can extend your overall wedding day. Normally the wedding day would start when you walk down the aisle, then the ceremony would end, you would rush through portraits so that you’re not late for the introductions and then it’s reception time. A first look can extend your day by almost three hours. Instead of being rushed for your bridal party portraits… you actually get to enjoy them and have fun handing out with your BEST friends on your wedding day. The WHOLE first half of my client’s wedding albums are packed full with images just from the time together before the ceremony.
YOUR ONLY ALONE TIME
First looks allow you to be TOGETHER and alone on your beautiful wedding day. When Adam and I saw each other, not only was it very intimate, it was our time … our only time to be alone the whole day! We laughed, we cried … and our first look images are very romantic. Normally portraits are little rushed after the family formals and it is hard to really get back into that “lovey-dovey” mode you loved in the photos you’ve been pinning on Pinterest… especially with family around! When you have just shared your first look, you’re READY to love on each other and I always capture the RAW emotions between soulmates.

HELPS DIMINISH ANXIETY
Nerves are gone! With about half of my beautiful couples who have decided to do a first look, the grooms were not fans of it, at all, at first. However, because they have never experienced their wedding day before, they didn’t know how nerve-racking it could be. I have testimonials from so many grooms who initially weren’t a fan of the first look… but afterwards admitted to being SO much more relaxed and ready for the ceremony!
